About Bandit Baseball

The Bandits are an up-coming 12-year old select baseball team based in Madison, Mississippi, just a few miles north of the state's capital city.
The team was first formed during the spring of 2005 when the Bandits were 9 years old. The squad's first ever game on May 27, 2005 was one to remember, as they knocked off the cross-town rival Madison MadDogs in a 17-14 thriller to capture the team's very first victory. More than 60 wins have followed since, including a number of tournament titles and a state championship.
The Bandits moved from USSSA's AA classification up to AAA in June of 2007, just a few weeks before that summer's Mississippi AAA State Tournament.
The original coaches were Greg Hamby, Johnny Jordan, and Kendall Adcock, though just Hamby (head coach) remains on the staff today. Over the past couple of years, numerous players have joined the Bandits, and now just three original players - Christopher Adcock, Matthew Collum, and Trace Hamby - remain on the roster.
Nicholas Cobb and Will Rutland joined in the spring of 2006, before Ross Buckley and Baker Hill came aboard later that summer. Assistant coach Jay Hill also joined the Bandits' staff in the summer of '06. Staton Todd then became a Bandit in the spring of 2007, before Michael Bruton and Ben Hudson accepted invitations this past summer.
During a break between the summer and fall seasons, the team officially changed its name from the Madison Bandits to Bandit Baseball in August of 2007. When the Bandits hit the field again in October, they did so in style, bringing home a AAA state championship, the team's first ever state title.
Following that monumental win, both Staton Todd and Josh Jordan chose to leave the team, and Michael Bruton later did the same, making room for a trio of new players to join the roster. Assistant coach Johnny Jordan also left the staff at that time. Former Mississippi DirtBags Austin Douglas, Chris Richardson, and Patrick Tatum filled those roster vacancies and began play with the team for the first time in the spring of 2008. Brian Richardson and Ben Douglas also joined the Bandits' coaching staff in 2008, while Tanner White was added to the team's roster in April of that year.
