• BANDITS PULL OFF SWEEP, WIN APRIL SHOWDOWN TOURNAMENT

A 4-0 weekend propelled the Bandits to a tournament championship at the April Showdown in Canton. The Bandits, who have won 8 of their last 9 games overall, put double-digit runs on the board three times and got strong pitching throughout the weekend to capture their second tournament title of the year.
In Friday night's 13-7 victory over the Southern Storm, Patrick Tatum helped lead the way with a single and a double, while Ross Buckley had a pair of singles to lead the offensive charge. Ben Hudson picked up the first of his two weekend wins in that contest. The Bandits then took on Renegade Baseball Saturday morning, with Hudson again making a huge contribution with a pair of singles in the game. Will Rutland, after being hit in the face with a pitch the night before, pitched a stellar complete game shutout to take home the win while also picking up a pair of base hits in the 3-0 victory.
In Sunday's semifinal game, Ben Hudson again took the hill and picked up the victory once again. Matthew Collum helped kick-start the Bandits' offense with a pair of doubles as they won the game 11-3 and advanced to the championship game against the Grenada Bullets. The Bandits lit up the scoreboard with 13 runs in that contest, thanks in large part to three singles from Tanner White, a single and an extra base hit from Baker Hill, and a pair of singles from Trace Hamby, Patrick Tatum, and Christopher Adcock. Austin Douglas went the distance on the mound, picking up the win as the Bandits cruised 13-5.
